Dear Friends,

I am once again writing with an update on my life. Residency is going really well. I am learning many, many things every day and will be preparing to graduate this upcoming June! I am already seeking Christ on where He wants me to go after graduation. I am very excited to follow Him where He leads and will update you all after I know where I will be working.

As a part of my Family Medicine residency program, I have been blessed with the opportunity to embark again on a month-long partnership with the World Medical Missions (WMM) arm of Samaritan’s Purse. Last February, I was blessed to serve at the Kapsowar Hospital in Kenya. Serving the Merakwet and Pokot peoples was a great experience to see the hand of God moving in Kenya and how He uses all of us to play a role in helping the people find both physical and spiritual healing.

This February, I will be working at the Karolyn Kempton Memorial Christian Hospital in southwest Togo. This is an exciting opportunity for me to once again serve the children of God as well as share the Gospel with many people with whom I will come in contact. As a resident physician, I will have my own patient load and will learn from the career missionary physicians that will provide supervision. I am very thrilled to have this opportunity for personal, professional, and spiritual growth.

As you know, this trip cannot happen without partnership. First and foremost, I am requesting prayer. I need prayer for all of the various details to fall in line in regards to travel and housing. I need prayer for emotional and physical strength; this month will be taxing on my mind and my body. Please pray for protection against Satan’s attacks. I know that wherever God is moving, Satan is poised to attack. Please pray for my health; medical missions are always a potential source of new and exciting pathogens!

I appreciate your spiritual/prayer support most of all, but I am also requesting financial support to help make this trip possible. My trip is sponsored, in part, by my residency program, but there are still many costs that need sponsorship. The portion that I need to raise is about $2,500.00. This amount will cover all of my expenses, including airfare, travel in Togo, housing, food, etc. The WMM has set-up a tax-deductible sponsorship account for me to accept donations. Please see the donation information on the following page.

I am excited to see where God is leading me in this and that I can share it with you.

Thank you so much for supporting me with your prayers and sponsoring me in this exciting endeavor.

Sincerely,

Ryan M. Fisher, MD
